Article 1: ACE Europe Becomes FBCA

Earlier this year, The Food and Beverage Carton Alliance (FBCA) was launched. This alliance is the result of a merger between ACE (Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment) and EXTR:ACT. ACE represented Europe’s beverage carton manufacturers, while EXTR:ACT focused on improving the recycling of beverage cartons, particularly those made from multiple materials.

Together, they are joining forces to promote sustainable and renewable packaging, encourage recycling and collection, and develop strong policy frameworks for food packaging on a global scale. FBCA’s mission is built on three pillars: innovate, inform, and collaborate.

Innovate

FBCA aims to drive progress in renewable materials and recycling technologies, ensuring that every beverage carton becomes part of a circular economy.

Inform

Through its Centres of Expertise, FBCA uses science-based data to highlight the carbon benefits of beverage cartons and engage with policymakers worldwide.

Collaborate

Finally, FBCA works together with the entire value chain to create sustainable packaging solutions that address the challenges of a changing world.
